How to Transfer Your Domain from Namecheap to Truehost in Pakistan

Build Something Beautiful

With a .pk Domain

Just Rs 1,999

Switching registrars takes less than 30 minutes of actual work. The rest is waiting, and the whole process wraps up in 5 to 7 days.

If you have a Namecheap domain and want to transfer your domain from Namecheap to Truehost in Pakistan for PKR billing, local support, and everything in one place, this is the exact process to follow.

Before you start, confirm that your domain is at least 60 days old, your registrant email address is active, and your domain is not expiring within the next 2 weeks.

Before You Begin: Quick Checklist

  • Domain is at least 60 days old then according to ICANN rule, it cannot be transferred before this
  • Registrant email is accessible: Namecheap will send your auth Code here
  • Domain is not expiring soon: Transfer takes up to 7 days; renew first if it is close
  • WHOIS privacy is turned off, this can block the transfer confirmation email
  • Domain has no active disputes or holds on it

Part 1: Steps to Complete on Your Namecheap Account

These steps prepare your domain for Transfer out of Namecheap.

Step 1: Disable WHOIS Privacy

Log in to your Namecheap account. Go to the Domain List and click Manage next to your domain.

Under the domain settings, find the WhoisGuard or Privacy section and turn it off.

The transfer approval email cannot reach you if privacy is masking your registrant address.

Step 2: Unlock the Domain (Disable Registrar Lock)

Still in the Domain List, click Manage on your domain.

Go to Sharing & Transfer in the left menu. Scroll to the Transfer Out section.

You will see the Registrar Lock toggle, switch it off. Allow up to 1 hour for the change to take effect.

Namecheap locks all domains by default to prevent hijacking. You must unlock it before a transfer can go through.

Step 3: Get Your Auth Code (EPP Code)

From the same Transfer Out section, click the Auth Code button.

Namecheap will ask for a reason, select one and click Send Code. The Auth Code will be sent to your registrant email address.

Copy the Code exactly as received. It is case-sensitive.

Do not retype it manually, instead, paste it directly to avoid errors.

Auth codes expire after a short period on some registrars. Request it only when you are ready to initiate the Transfer at Truehost immediately after.

Part 2: Steps to Complete on Truehost Pakistan

With your Auth Code in hand, head over to Truehost Pakistan to initiate the incoming Transfer.

Step 4: Go to the Truehost Domain Transfer Page

Visit truehost.pk/domains/transfer and enter your domain name in the transfer search bar. Click Transfer to check eligibility and see the transfer pricing.

Step 5: Enter Your Auth Code and Complete Checkout

On the transfer order page, paste your Auth Code into the authorisation field.

Review the order, your domain transfer includes a 1-year renewal, so your expiry date will be extended by 12 months from today.

Complete your payment in PKR using JazzCash, EasyPaisa, bank transfer, or card.

Step 6: Approve the Transfer via Email

After Truehost submits the transfer request, Namecheap will send a confirmation email to your registrant address.

Open it and approve the Transfer.

This step is required, if you skip it, the Transfer will either time out or wait the full 5-day period before auto-completing.

Approval from the Namecheap email speeds up the Transfer significantly.

Most approved transfers are completed within 24 to 48 hours, rather than the full 5 to 7 days.

Step 7: Wait for Transfer Completion

Once approved, ICANN allows Namecheap up to 5 days to release the domain.

You will receive a confirmation email from Truehost when the Transfer is complete, and the domain is active in your Truehost account.

Does Your Website Stay Live During the Transfer?

Your website stays live throughout the Transfer. Domain transfers move only the registrar of record, not your DNS, nameservers, or hosting.

If you are keeping your hosting with another provider for now, your current nameservers will continue pointing there, and your site will continue loading as normal.

When you are ready to move hosting to Truehost as well, you can update nameservers from your new Truehost domain dashboard.

Transfer Not Going Through? Common Reasons

  • WHOIS privacy still on, turn it off in Namecheap and restart the Transfer
  • Wrong registrant email, check your Namecheap domain contacts and update if needed
  • Auth Code entered incorrectly, copy-paste it, never retype
  • Domain registered less than 60 days ago, wait until the 60-day window passes
  • Domain expiring soon, renew it at Namecheap before initiating the Transfer
  • Transfer not approved, check your registrant email inbox and spam folder for the Namecheap approval email
