You want a website and have heard WordPress is the way to go.
But then someone mentions hosting and domains and cPanel, and suddenly it feels like you need a computer science degree to get a simple site online.
You do not. Getting a WordPress website in Pakistan to go live takes five steps.
You do not need to write any code or technical experience.
This guide walks you through the whole thing from start to finish in plain Urdu-friendly English.
By the end of this guide, your WordPress site will be live and ready to go.
Before You Start: Two Things You Need
Every website needs exactly two things. Just two. Everything else comes after.
| What you need | What it does | What it costs roughly |
| A domain name | Your website address, like yourshop.com or yourname.pk | PKR 1,500 to 3,000 per year |
| A hosting plan | The server that stores your website and keeps it online 24/7 | PKR 400 to 2,000 per month |
Think of it as your shop’s street address. Your hosting is the building itself. You need both.
The good news is that most hosting providers in Pakistan sell them together as a bundle.
But here at Truehost includes a free domain on select plans, so you do not have to buy them separately.
Buy your domain and hosting from the same provider.
It skips a DNS configuration step that trips up most beginners and keeps your renewals in one place.
Step 1: Choose a Hosting Plan and Register Your Domain
Go to truehost.com. Click on Hosting, then WordPress Hosting.
Pick a plan that fits your budget. For a beginner site like a blog, a small business page, a portfolio, the entry-level plan covers everything you need.
During checkout, you will be asked to register a domain name. Here is how to pick one that works:
- Keep it short. Shorter names are easier to type and remember.
- Use your business name or your own name if this is a personal site.
- Go with .com if it is available. For Pakistan-specific businesses, .pk or .com.pk works well too.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers. They make your domain harder to share verbally.
Complete the payment. Truehost accepts PKR billing.
Once payment goes through, you will receive a confirmation email with your account details. Save that email, it has your login credentials.
Step 2: Log in to cPanel and Install WordPress
cPanel is your hosting control panel.
It is where you manage your website files, email accounts, databases, and everything else.
Sometimes, it sounds technical, but it looks like a normal dashboard with icons and menus.
Here is how to get to it and install WordPress:
- Log in to your Truehost account at truehost.com and go to your dashboard.
- Find the cPanel login button and click it. cPanel opens in a new tab.
- Look for the Softaculous Apps Installer section in cPanel. Click the WordPress icon inside it.
- Click Install Now on the WordPress installation page.
- Fill in the details: your site name, a short description, your admin username, and a strong password. Write the username and password down somewhere safe.
- Click Install. Wait about 60 seconds. WordPress is now installed.
Your WordPress login page will be at yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Bookmark it now. You will use it every time you want to update your site.
Step 3: Choose a Theme That Fits Your Site
When you first log into WordPress, your site has a default theme that looks plain.
A theme controls how your site looks, the layout, fonts, colours, and structure. Changing it takes two minutes.
Inside WordPress, go to Appearance, then Themes, then Add New. You will see thousands of free themes.
Here are three that work well for Pakistani beginners:
| Theme | Best for | Cost |
| Astra | Business sites, blogs, portfolios because it’s fast and flexible | Free, premium from USD 47 |
| Ocean WP | Online stores, business sites. It works well with WooCommerce | Free, premium from USD 43 |
| Kadence | Clean modern sites, very beginner friendly | Free, premium from USD 79 |
Click Install on any theme, then Activate. Your site now looks like the theme demo.
You customize the colours, logo, and text in the next step.
Do not spend more than 30 minutes picking a theme. You can always change it later without losing your content. Pick something clean and move on.
Step 4: Add the Plugins Your Site Actually Needs
Plugins are like apps for your WordPress site. They add features without any coding. The mistake most beginners make is installing too many.
Start with just these four:
| Plugin | What it does | Cost |
| Yoast SEO or Rank Math | Helps your site show up on Google | Free |
| Contact Form 7 or WPForms | Adds a working contact form to your site | Free |
| Wordfence Security | Protects your site from hackers and malware | Free |
| WP Super Cache or LiteSpeed Cache | Makes your site load faster | Free |
To install a plugin: go to Plugins, then Add New, search for the plugin name, click Install Now, then Activate. That is it.
If your hosting is on Truehost’s LiteSpeed servers, install LiteSpeed Cache instead of WP Super Cache. They work together and give you better performance automatically.
Step 5: Add Your Content and Go Live
Your site is installed, themed, and protected. Now you add your actual content. In WordPress, content lives in two places:
- Pages: these are static sections like Home, About Us, Services, and Contact. They do not change often.
- Posts: these are blog entries. They appear in reverse chronological order and are great for news, updates, and articles.
Go to Pages, then Add New to create your homepage, About, and Contact pages.
Then go to Posts, then Add New to write your first blog post if you want one.
When you are happy with how things look, your site is already live. Anyone who visits your domain name can see it.
One Thing You Must Do Before You Share Your Site Link
Make sure your SSL certificate is active.
SSL is what puts the padlock icon next to your domain in the browser.
Without it, Google Chrome shows a ‘Not Secure’ warning, and that warning stops visitors from trusting your site before they even read a word.
Truehost activates a free SSL certificate automatically on all hosting plans. To confirm it is working, visit your site.
Check your address bar which shows https:// at the start, not http://. If it shows https://, you are good.
If not, go to your cPanel, find SSL/TLS, and activate the free Let’s Encrypt certificate.
Which Truehost Plan Should a Beginner in Pakistan Choose
You do not need the most expensive plan to start. Here is a simple guide:
| Your site | Plan to start with |
| A blog, portfolio, or simple business page | Entry-level shared hosting, handles everything a beginner needs |
| A small online store with WooCommerce | Mid-tier WordPress hosting with more memory for WooCommerce to run smoothly |
| Multiple client sites or high-traffic projects | VPS or managed cloud with more resources, full control |
Start small. Upgrade when you need to. Truehost lets you move between plans without migrating to a different provider, your domain, email, and site files stay in the same account.
